OBITUARY

     John William KENNEDY, Sr., age 73, died at his Custer residence on 
Wednesday, January 4, 1989, after a lengthy illness.  Mr. KENNEDY was born 
July 6, 1915 in Breckinridge County, a son of the lat James and Mary Lone 
WARDRIP KENNEDY.  He was a retired farmer and construction worker.  Mr. 
KENNEDY is survived by:
his wife, Mrs. Beulah GOATELY KENNEDY
seven daughters:
Ms. Anna Mae DRANE of Garfield, Ky (Breckinridge County)
Ms. Pauline DRANE of Garfield, Ky
Ms. Lou Ella ARNOLD of Glen Dean, Ky (Breckinridge County)
Ms. Emma SMITH of Seattle, Washington (King County)
Ms. Dottie MATTHEWS of Hardinsburg, Ky
Ms. Aretta GREER of Vine Grove, Ky (Hardin County)
Ms. Denice HUNT of Leitchfield, Ky (Grayson County)
four sons:
Jerry KENNEDY of Danbury, Texas (Brazoria County)
John KENNEDY, Jr. of McDaniels, Ky (Breckinridge County)
James Raymond KENNEDY of Georgia
Curtis KENNEDY of Colorado Springs, Colorado (El Paso County)
one sister:
Ms. Hallie B. WILSON of Shelburn, Indiana (Sullivan County)
one brother:
Kirby KENNEDY of Hawesville, Ky (Hancock County)
31 grandchildren & 16 great grandchildren
     Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 7, 1989 from the chapel 
of the Trent-Dowell Funeral Home in Hardinsburg, in charge of arrangements.  
Burial was in the New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.

John William KENNEDY, Sr. and his wife Beulah Mae GOATLEY KENNEDY have a tombstone. 
They 
are buried at:

#0259 New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, located 5 miles north of Hardinsburg, Ky.,
on 
New Bethel-Stephensport Road, off KY 259, across the street from the church.
