Mr. KENNEDY was known for his Christian ways of living and for the part he took in church affairs. He professed religion in 1833, and united with the Cumberland Presbyterian Church at Pleasant Grove to Freedom. He was a ruling elder in the church at Freedom until his death, and he and his work there will be greatly missed. He lived a pious Christian life, and had great love for church and his family and neighbors. Of a large family of children reared by Mr. KENNEDY, seven survive to mourn his loss. Mr. KENNEDY was a Mason, and one of the best of the order. As a citizen, a Mason, and a Christian, he led an excellent life. The funeral was held Saturday, the interment being at Freedom Cemetery. The Reverend J.S.J. Brear, pastor of the Presbyterian Church at Freedom, preached the funeral sermon, and the remains were buried, at the request of the deceased, by the Masonic Order.
