OBITUARY   1946-2013
     Jim D. KENNEDY, age 67, of Hardinsburg, Ky, died on Saturday, September 7, 
2013 at University of Louisville Hospital surrounded by his family.  He was born 
in Breckinridge County on July 31, 1946 to the late E.B. and Wilma WHITWORTH 
KENNEDY.
     Jim served the area as an agent for Kentucky Farm Bureau Insurance for 43 
years.  Throughout his life, he faithfully served Freedom Cumberland Presbyterian 
Church as pianist, elder, teacher, and mentor.  Jim was past president and member 
of the Hardinsburg Rotary Club since 1970.  He was dedicated to the Rotary Club 
with his attendance and involvement in the annual auction, and was instrumental 
in the developement of the Hardinsburg Sports Complex, where he coached Babe Ruth 
Baseball.  He was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves, Cleveland Browns, and 
Western Kentucky Hilltoppers.  For many years as a special guest wearing a red 
suit and white beard; his jolly "HoHoHo" and "Merry Christmas" brought good 
tidings and excitement to all who attended the Hardinsburg Christmas Parade.  He 
enjoyed traveling in the United States and abroad.  Most of all, he enjoyed 
spending time with his family.
Jim was preceded in death by:
his first wife, Sharon BURNETT KENNEDY
and his brother, Harold KENNEDY
     He is survived by:
his wife, Ann SEARS KENNEDY of Hardinsburg, Ky
one daughter
two sons
three step-children
5 granddaughters; 5 step-grandchildren;
one brother
one sister-in-law
his first wife's parents
and numerous nieces and nephews
     Funeral services were held at Freedom Cumberland Presbyterian Church on 
Wednesday, September 11, 2013, with burial in the church cemetery.

Additional Comments:
#0139 Freedom Cumberland Presbyterian Church and Cemetery; Directions: Turn north 
immediately west of "Dead Man's Curve" from Kentucky Highway 60.  The church lies 
east of the road, and is blocked from view by a low ridge.
