Trent-Dowell Funeral Home
Harold E. Kennedy, age 77 of Garfield,KY died Monday, April 20, 2009 at his 
residence. He was born in Breck. Co. KY on 12-24-1931, the son of the late 
Elza B. and Wilma Mae Whitworth Kennedy. He was a member of Freedom 
Cumberland  Presbyterian Church, a Sunday School teacher and superintendent, 
former member of the Breckinridge Memorial Hospital Board and Breck. Co. Fair 
Board. Harold loved his family and the time spent with them, reading and 
watching Westerns, singing in the choir, raising hogs, cows, tobacco and kids. 
His children said that they were the "Waltons without a mountain".
 
He is survived by his wife - Elsie Kennedy who he married June 15, 1951
7 children: Gwen (Carlos) Matthews,  Darryl (Rhonda) Kennedy and Jill (Jeff) 
Rhodes of Hardinsburg,KY
Cathy (Randall Barr) Kennedy of Leitchfield,KY
Debbie (Mike) Hendrick and Kenny (Paula) Kennedy of Garfield,KY
Eddie (Yvonne) Kennedy of Irvington,KY
2 brothers: Bobby and Jim Kennedy of Garfield,KY
23 grandchildren: Chad, Crystal, Laura, Carrie, Russ, Andrew, Cheryl, Leslie, 
Alicia, Jacquie, Amelia, Vanessa, Jessica, Erin, Christy, Brandon, Leslie, 
Desiree, Nick, Jake, Elizabeth, Ashley and Katie Jo 

25 greatgrandchildren: Noah, Parker, Tyler, Caleb, Natalie, Jacqueline, 
Shayna, Hannah, Madysen, Chloe, Demetrius, Alyssa, Aleigha, Amber, Xavier, 
Izaiah, Lilly, Caleb, Kayla, Avery, Eli, Haley, Jacob, Johnny Ray, Adam
2 great grandchildren on the way: Luke and Labron
 
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at 11AM at Freedom 
Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dee Ann Thompson and Rev. Don 
Bruington officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation at 
Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4-8PM and after 8AM Thursday. 
Memorial contributions are requested to: Freedom Cumberland Presbyterian 
Church Building Fund or cemetery.
