OBITUARY  Page 8-B, Column 1

     Halbert I. KIPER, age 66 of Cave Mill Road, Leitchfield, Ky (Grayson 
County), died on Saturday, March 24, 1979 at Norton's Infirmary in Louisville, 
Ky (Jefferson County), after a short illness.  He was born on September 8, 
1912 in Breckinridge County, a son of the late William Henry and Iva STORMS 
KIPER.  He was a building contractor, had been an Ashland Oil Distributor, and 
a veteran of World War II.  Surviving him are:
his wife, Mrs. Catherine WHITTEN KIPER
one daughter:
Joan KIPER of Luke Air Force Base in Phoenix, Arizona
three sons:
Larry KIPER of Leitchfield, Ky
Mark KIPER of Leitchfield, Ky
Scottie KIPER of Leitchfield, Ky
one sister:
Mrs. Mabel FRANK of Westview, Ky (Breckinridge County)
three brothers:
Roscoe KIPER of Kingswood, Ky (Breckinridge County)
Jasper KIPER of Hudson, Ky (Breckinridge County)
James KIPER of Pee Wee, Ky (Oldham County) (should be spelled, Pewee, Ky)
     Funeral services were held on Tuesday, March 27, 1979 from the Calvert 
Church, with burial in the church cemetery.  Watkins Funeral Home in 
Leitchfield was in charge of arrangements.

McDaniels, in Breckinridge County, Ky.
