OBITUARY
     Mrs. Amanda Elizabeth LUCAS, age 75, of Route 3, Shepherdsville, Ky in 
Bullitt County, died on Sunday, February 5, 1978 at St. Joseph Infirmary in 
Louisville, Ky (Jefferson County).  She was born in Breckinridge County on 
April 10, 1902, the daughter of the late James & Lillie BOARD HORSLEY.  Her 
husband, Shelby LUCAS, preceded her in death in 1975.  Survivors include:
five daughters:
Mrs. Eva WOODCOCK of Louisville, Ky
Mrs. Bertha LUCAS of Louisville, Ky
Mrs. Pearl MOORMAN of Elizabethtown, Ky (Hardin County)
Mrs. Francis BRUCE of Shephardsville, Ky
Mrs. Eva?  GLIDER of California
four sons:
Arthur LUCAS of Louisville, Ky
Wayne LUCAS of Indianapolis, Indiana (Marion County)
Lester LUCAS of Milwaukee, Wisconsin (Milwaukee County)
Will LUCAS of California
one brother:
Jesse HORSLEY of Hardinsburg, Ky
     Funeral services were held on Wednesday, February 8, 1978 from the 
Fairview United Methodist Church in the Mook Community, and burial in the 
church cemetery, under the direction of the Trent-Dowell Funeral Home, 
Hardinsburg.

Additional Comments:
I did not find a tombstone for Amanda Elizabeth HORSLEY LUCAS or her husband, 
Shelby LUCAS.  I do not know if Shelby LUCAS is buried next to his wife.  I did, 
however, find his birth & death dates.  I do not have access to death 
certficates for year 1975.

3 miles east of Westview, on Ky 259.

I found a son who died at 8 days old, but his Meade County, Ky death certificate 
(#31610), stated he was buried in Brandenburg, Meade County, Ky: Melvin LUCAS.
