OBITUARY  Page 4

     James Elbert LUCAS of Route 1, Irvington, Ky in Breckinridge County, died 
on Saturday, May 21, 1994, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, Ky 
(Hardin County).  He was 71 years old.  Mr. LUCAS was born in Breckinridge 
County on February 24, 1923, a son of the late Mathias and Ida CARMAN LUCAS.  
He was a farmer and a member of Garfield Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Mr. LUCAS is survived by:
his wife, Hazel CARTER LUCAS
one daughter
two sons
two sisters:
Annie CRITCHELOW of Mattoon, Illinois (Coles County)
Dorothy HAMPTON of Mattoon, Illinois
3 grandchildren
     The funeral was held at 3 p.m. on Monday, May 23, 1994, at Trent-Dowell 
Funeral Home, Hardinsburg.  Burial was in the Hensley Cemetery.
