     Mrs. Ester R. LYON, age 85, of Custer in Breckinridge County, died on 
Monday, January 24, 2000 at the Breckinridge Memorial Hospital, Hardinsburg.  
She was born in Breckinridge County, a daughter of the late Hiram and Almeda 
REID ALLEN.  Mrs. LYON was a homemaker.  A son, Kenneth LYON, preceded her in 
death October 26, 1998.  Surviving are:
her husband, Carl LYON
a daughter and son-in-law
two brothers:
Willard Franklin ALLEN of Fordsville, Ky (Ohio County)
Earl Sidney ALLEN of Brooks, Ky (Bullitt County)
2 grandchildren
     Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2000, at Trent-
Dowell Funeral Home, Hardinsburg, with burial in Trent-Smith Cemetery in 
Custer.
