OBITUARY  
EARLINE BENNETT LYON  1914 -- 2008
     Earline BENNETT LYON, age 94 of Custer, died on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at the
Medco 
Center (Nursing Home) in Hardinsburg.  She was born in Custer, in Breckinridge
County on 
February 20, 1914, the daughter of the late John & Shellie BUTLER BENNETT.  She
attended 
Constantine United Methodist Church, was a member of the Kentucky Education
Association, 
and enjoyed gardening.
     Earline was a retired school teacher, having taught for over 38 years in Hardin
and 
Breckinridge Counties.  She and her daughter, Christine, graduated from Western
Kentucky 
University the same year.  She loved teaching and was a substitute teacher well into
her 
80's.
She was preceded in death by:
her husband, Lawrence "Bob" LYON
two brothers:
Shelby BENNETT
Lester BENNETT
two sisters:
Hazel BUTLER
Florine EATON

Earline is survived by:
one daughter
one sister
3 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren
     Funeral services were held on Monday, May 12, 2008 from the Trent-Dowell
Funeral 
Home, Hardinsburg, with the Reverend Beryle Fentress officiating.  Burial was in the

Preston Cemetery.
