Trent-Dowell Funeral Home Obituary Listings
Earline Bennett Lyon, age 94 of Custer, KY died 
Saturday, May 10, 2008 at Medco Center in 
Hardinsburg, KY. She was born in custer, KY on 
2-20-1914, the daughter of the late John and 
Shellie Butler Bennett. She attended Constantine 
United Methodist Church, was a member of the 
Kentucky Education Association and enjoyed 
gardening. Earline was a retired school teacher, 
having taught over 38 years in Hardin and 
Breckinridge counties. She and her daughter 
Christine, graduated from Western Kentucky 
University the same year. She loved teaching and 
was a substitute teacher well into her 80's.
 
She was preceded in death by her husband: Lawrence "Bob" Lyon
2 brothers: Shelby and Lester Bennett and 2 sisters: 
Hazel Butler and Florine Eaton
 
Survived by her daughter and son-in-law: 
Christine and Jim Woodburn of Sacramento,KY

her son and daughter-in-law: Gary and Gail Lyon of Custer,KY
her sister: Cordelia Hollis of Akron,OH
3 grandchildren: James Allan and Bennie Ray Woodburn, Rebecca Earline Biggs
7 great grandchildren: Ross, Scott, Troy and Mackenzie Woodburn, 
Evan Wells, Jessie and Olivia Biggs
 
Funeral services will be held on Monday,
May 12, 2008 at 1PM at Trent-Dowell Funeral
Home with Rev. Beryle Fentress officiating. 
Burial will be in the Preston Cemetery. 
Visitation on Sunday from 4-8PM and after 
8:30AM Monday.
