JOHNSON), I announce the funeral of Bro. Jackson MARR, aged 82 years; conducted by the Reverend H. Hook, whom we believe to be possessed with an angelic seal from God; on the 25th of September, at the home of his only son (George MARR); attended by a large company of relatives and friends. He departed this life November 1st, 1897. God called him from earth to Heaven. He professed his hope in Christ a number of years ago, he loved the truth as it is in Jesus. During his last illness, those who beheld his face, could see the glory of God in him. In sweet anticipation, with his eyes overflowing with tears, he spoke of that mansion prepared for him beyond the skies. Weep not dear sister, weep not dear brother, father is only sleeping--asleep in Jesus! blessed sleep! From which none ever wake to weep. We tender our heart felt sympathies to the bereaved granddaughter whom God had visited with the hand of affliction and bereavement. He was too dear to stay below; God called him up above; He called him from this earthly clay, To sing redeeming love. He is gone to meet his companion, On that delightful shore. Where sickness, sorrow, pain, and death Are felt and feared no more. Let us mourn not for our loved one, but rejoice that the Lord reigns that he is good to all, and that he will be with us in six troubles, and will not forsake us in the seventh. Dear sister and brother, let us be reconciled to the will of God, is the prayer of the humble writer. R.B.H., Custer, Ky.
