STEPHENSPORT NEWS ITEM:
     The corpse of Mr. Milton MATHENY, a former citizen of our town, arrived 
on the noon train Monday, and buried at the Stephensport Cemetery.

SAND CAVE FLAT NEWS ITEM:
DEATH -- Mr. A.M. MATHENY, an old and respected citizen of Breckinridge 
County, passed away January 6, 1900, at the home of his son-in-law, W.T. 
CLAYCOMB.  His 85th (birthday) anniversary occurred during his last illness.  
His estimable companion preceded him by only a few years, although he was 10 
years her senior.
     Mr. MATHENY leaves seven children, and quite a number of grandchildren.  
The funeral was on Sunday evening at the home where he died, preached by the 
Reverend STUBBLEFIELD, and his remains were brought to Stephensport on Monday, 
January 8, 1900, and interred in the cemetery near the churches.






Additional Comments:
I did not find a tombstone for Mr. MATHENY in the Breckinridge County 
Cemeteries, volume one, that was published in 1991.
