Obituary

Mrs. J. E. MATTHEWS (should be spelled MATHEWS), died Saturday September 10, 
1960.  The funeral was conducted Tuesday at the Methodiat Church.  The Dowell 
Funeral Home of Hardinsburg (Breckinridge County), Ky. was in charge of 
arrangements.  (no burial information and place given)

Mrs. MATHEWS, the former Miss Anna L. PUMPHREY, the daughter of Mortimore and 
Elizabeth SKILLMAN PUMPHREY, and was born November 15, 1886.  She married May 
3, 1905 to Dr. Joseph E. MATHEWS.  Her parents and her husband preceded her in 
death.  She was converted early in life, and joined the Mt. Zion Methodist 
Church.  After moving to Harned (Breckinridge County), Ky., she joined the 
Harned Methodist Church.  She was also a member of the Eastern Star, and White 
Shrine.  Surviving Mrs. MATHEWS are:
one sister:
Mrs. Eva GLENN, Westview (Breckinridge County), Ky.
one brother:
Allen PUMPHREY, Westview, Ky.

Anna and her husband Joseph have a tombstone.
