OBITUARY   Page 4

     Morris Thomas MATTHEWS, age 68, of Irvington, Ky in Breckinridge County, 
formerly of Hardinsburg, died on Monday, July 24, 1995, at his Irvington 
residence.  He was born in Breckinridge County on June 10, 1927, the son of 
the late Robert and Rosebud BISHOP MATTHEWS.  He was an electrician and a Navy 
veteran of World War II.  A son, James MATTHEWS, preceded him in death.  
Surviving are:
his wife, Mrs. Justine BROYLES MATTHEWS
four sons
one sister:
Mrs. Lillie D. RALEY of Louisville, Ky (Jefferson County)
11 grandchildren & 4 great grandchildren
     Funeral services were conducted (today) Wednesday, July 26, 1995 at 
Trent-Dowell Funeral Home, Hardinsburg, with burial in the Matthews Family 
Cemetery near Hardinsburg.
