J. WILLIAM MATTINGLY
     Mrs. Joe BEAVIN of this city (Cloverport), received a message Sunday 
announcing the death of her brother, J. William MATTINGLY which occurred 
Sunday, January 20, 1929, in Los Angeles, California (in Los Angeles 
County), following a motor accident Saturday in which Mr. MATTINGLY was 
fatally injured.
     At the time of his death he was a member of the Los Angeles Fire 
Department Band.  He had been a resident of Los Angeles for 18 years.  He 
was first married to Miss Margaret LEWIS, daughter of Robert LEWIS of Los 
Angeles, who died a number of years past, and was survived by one daughter.  
     Mr. MATTINGLY was again married, and is survived by his daughter by his 
first marriage.  He is also survived by the following:
two brothers:
Charles MATTINGLY of Renfrow, Oklahoma (Grant County)
Joe MATTINGLY of Huntington, Indiana (Huntington County)
two sisters:
Mrs. Julian BROWN of Keerville, Texas (Keer County)
Mrs. Joe BEAVIN of this city
He is also survived by his widow (not named).
     He is the son of the late Jack MATTINGLY, who died here a few years 
past.  He was buried in Los Angeles.
