WRECK ON L.H. & St.L.R.R.
(Louisville,Henderson & St. Louis Railroad)
     Clyde HALL of Cloverport and Hewitt MAYSEY of Stephensport, died with 
four other trainmen in a head-on collision on Friday morning, February 1, 
1929.
    The accident happened at 3:45 a.m. when passenger train #146 bound for 
Louisville, and freight train #167 headed for Henderson, crashed into each 
other on a sharp curve six miles east of Henderson.  It was by far the worst 
wreck in history of the road.  Among the dead:
     Hewitt B. MAYSEY, age 32, fireman on the freight train.  He was the son 
of Charles MAYSEY OF Stephensport, and a brother of Owen MAYSEY also of 
Stephensport.
MAYSEY BURIED MONDAY
     The body of Hewitt MAYSEY was identified by his brother, O. M. MAYSEY 
of Stephensport and the Reverend J. L. Mitchell.  MAYSEY'S funeral and 
interment were held Monday afternoon, February 4, 1929, in Stephensport.  
MAYSEY is survived by:
his father, Charles MAYSEY
two brothers:
Owen MAYSEY of Stephensport, Ky (Breckinridge County)
Rube MAYSEY of Addison, Ky (Breckinridge County)
one sister (not named)
his mother (not named)

I do not know the name of Hewitt MAYSEY'S sister who was one of his 
survivors.
