September 8, 1903 (Special) Emmett McCOY, who has been ill the past two weeks, died Sunday morning at 5:00 a.m., September 6, 1903. He was buried at Bethel Monday at 11:00 a.m. Emmett was a good and well-liked boy. Additional Comments: Breckinridge County Cemeteries, Volume one, published in 1991: I have Emmett and his father listed in two different cemeteries with a tombstone: Bethel Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery, located a 3 miles east of Bewleyville, Ky. on Highway 333: McCOY, Emmett 16 Mar 1883 -- 6 Sep 1903 HIS FATHER: McCOY, Benjamin F. 1853 -- 1934 Old Bethel Cemetery, located between U.S. 60 and Bewleyville. A.V. MEADOR started this cemetery. McCoy, Emmett 16 Mar 1884 -- 6 Sep 1903 son of B.F. & E.J. HIS FATHER: McCOY, Ben F. 1853 -- 1934 first husband of Eliza Jane Notice the birth year for Emmett. One transcriber had born 1883 and the other 1884. The tombstone must have been very hard to read.
