OBITUARY   Page 12, Column-2

     Lawrence Russell MERCER, age 73, of Constantine, Ky., in Breckinridge 
County, died on Monday, August 6, 1979 at the Breckinridge Memorial Hospital, 
Hardinsburg, following a lengthy illness.  He was born on April 18, 1906 in 
Breckinridge County, a son of the late Sylvester Clay MERCER and Callie (should 
be Collie) PARSON MERCER.  He was a retired farmer.
He is survived by:
one daughter:
Mrs. Eugene (Joyce) DOWNS of Louisville, Ky
one sister:
Mrs. Pauline MERCER of Louisville, Ky
one brother:
Byron MERCER of Louisville, Ky
one grandson
     The funeral was held on Wednesday, August 8, 1979, from the Trent-Dowell 
Funeral Home, Hardinsburg, with burial in the Hudson Cemetery.
