MINOR IS DEAD Mrs. William E. Minor died at her home at Addison on last Friday afternoon. She had been an invalid for two years. Mrs. Minor was sixty-eight years old. The funeral services were held Saturday by Rev. B. M. Currie, of this city. The interment was made in the family grave yard. The funeral was largely attended, many relatives and friends coming from a distance. Mrs. Minor was Amanda Stephens, a daughter of the late Daniel J. Stephens of this county. She was born Nov. 26, 1838. At the age of sixteen joined the Methodist church and lived a devout Christian life until her death. She entered Science Hill college at Shelbyville when ten years of age and remained there until her graduation. Mrs. Minor was married to the late James Burks and left a widow with three children. In 1876 she was married to Mr. William E. Minor, who survives her. To this union no children were born. She is also survived by her three children: Mrs. J. L. Long, Miss Nellie Burks, and Mr. Dan Burks, all at home and by a sister, Mrs. John Burks of Louisville and by a brother, Mr. James Stephens of Holt, and by William and Amanda Long, grand children. Mrs. Minor led a consecrated life, was a student of the Bible, a worker in the church and a Sunday school teacher for thirty years. She did much work in charity and was liberal in her gifts. her home has always been known as one of the most hospital in the county and many will look back with pleasure upon the joyous days spent at Mrs. Minors, in days of yore. Her smiling face and lovable disposition made every one fell truely welcome. Many are the enjoyable times that have been spent in the Minor homestead wit this departed saintly woman as the queen. The gladness in her face and sweetness of her character were her supreme virtues. The passing of this Christian life into the valley of death just at Easter, only to rise on the resurrection morn, is a thought of cheer to those who compose the fragments of the broken family circle. Those who attended the funeral from a distance were: Mrs. T. J. Minary, Mrs. Geo. G. Fetter, Mrs. Geo Lindenburger, all of Louisville, and Mrs. Will Barrett, Owensboro, who were nieces of Mrs. Minor. Mrs. James G. Stephens, and John Burks, Louisville, Minor Stephens, Lakeland, Fla., William Long, Louisville, a grandson, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Bowmer, Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Skillman, Mrs. Jas. T. Skillman of Cloverport, and Mrs. Chas. Minary of Springfield, Ill. Many beautiful flowers were sent by friends and brought to the home by neighbors. The grave covering of flowers was beautiful.
