MOORMAN, of Glendeane (now spelled Glen Dean), whose serious illness was mentioned in last weeks News, died Saturday morning, January 30, 1904 at 8:00 a.m. Death was due to brain trouble, which is believed to have been caused by an accident that befell Mr. MOORMAN 5 years ago. While passing through a field during a storm, a broken limb was hurled on his head by the wind, and after that he always complained of his head hurting him. Week before last, he was taken suddenly ill, and his relatives were summoned to his bedside. Last Tuesday he rallied some, but then grew worse until the end came. James A. MOORMAN was an exemplary type of Christian man, and was one of the most popular and prominent men of this part of the county. As a farmer he was successful, and was a man of good circumstances. Among the citizens of the county, he counted hundreds who were his friends, and many of these attended his illness and funeral. Mr. MOORMAN was born in 1843 near the old home of his father, Jesse V. MOORMAN, who lived to be 85, and was a pioneer settler of Breckinridge County. He spent all of his life in Glendeane, and helped to make it one of the most substantial community in the county. Since boyhood, he has been a member of the Goshen Baptist Church at Glendeane. Besides his wife, Mr. MOORMAN is survived by: two daughters: Mrs. Lutie STUM of Sacramento, Ky (McLean County) Miss Hallie MOORMAN of Glendeane, Ky one son: Vennie MOORMAN of Glendeane, Ky two sisters: Mrs. R. O. WILLIS of Glendeane, Ky Mrs. J. T. OWEN of Glendeane, Ky an only brother: Dr. J. L. MOORMAN of Glendeane, Ky Mrs. MOORMAN was formerly a Miss OWEN, and is a sister of Dr. J. T. OWEN and Mrs. F. T. HEYSER of Glendeane. The funeral was held from the residence Sunday afternoon at 3:00 p.m., January 31, 1904 by the Reverend J. T. LEWIS of Irvington, Ky (Breckinridge County), and the interment was in the Moorman graveyard about 2 miles from Glendeane.
