Marie Elder Newby, age 87 Hardinsburg,KY died Friday, 5-4-2007 at 

University Hosptial in Louisville,KY. She was born in 

Breckinridge County on 6-20-1919, the daughter of the late Hubert 

and Modessa Beavin Elder. She was a retired teacher and member of 

St. Romuald Catholic Church and Breck.Co. Retired Teachers 

Association. She was preceded in death by her husband Roy Newby. 

2 brothers - Johnny and Raphael Elder and 2 sisters - Marion 

Hancock and Lucille Cockrell.
 
She is survived by 3 sisters - Eloise Hendrickson of 

Payneville,KY
Odell Miller of Sun City,FL
Bernice Powell of Edmon,OK
several nieces and nephews
 
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 8,2007 at 1PM at 

St. Romuald Catholic Church with Fr. Tony Bickett officiating. 

Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on 

Monday from 3-8PM and after 8:30Am Tuesday at Trent-Dowell 

Funeral Home.
