Page 1, CLOVERPORT WOMAN DIES OF BURNS
     Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m., February 8, 
1961, at the Pisgah Baptist Church for Mrs. Ruby NEWMAN, age 91, of Cloverport 
Route, (Breckinridge County), who died Monday night, February 6, 1961.
     Mrs. NEWMAN suffered first and second degree burns Saturday evening about 
6 p.m. when her clothing ignited from an open fireplace.  She was alone in the 
house at the time, and was not able to beat out the flames.  Her sons, Frank 
and Harold were busy outside.  She is also survived by another son, Wallace of 
New Washington, Indiana.

OBITUARY
     Mrs. Ruby NEWMAN, age 91, of Cloverport, Ky died Monday, February 6, 1961 
as the results of burns suffered Saturday night when her clothes ignited while 
sitting near an open fireplace.
     The funeral services were held on Wednesday, February 8, 1961 from the 
Pisgah Baptist Church.  The Dowell Funeral Home of Hardinsburg was in charge 
of arrangements, and burial was in the Pisgah Church Cemetery.
     Mrs. NEWMAN was born August 2, 1869 near Cloverport in the same house she 
has occupied for 91 years.  She was the daughter of William D. RYAN and 
Manervia GARDNER.  She taught school for 11 years.  She is survived by:
three sons:
Frank NEWMAN, in the home where she lived
Harold NEWMAN of Cloverport, Ky
Wallace NEWMAN of New Washington, Indiana (Clark County)
6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren
