OBITUARY
ALVIN M. NIX
     On Wednesday afternoon October 16, 1957, Mr. Alvin Murray NIX passed away of 
a heart attack at the home of his step-daughter, Mrs. Coleman CARMAN at Locust 
Hill, Ky., in Breckinridge County, at the age of 70 years.
     He was the son of Franklin and Ellen (COLLINS) NIX.  Upon his marriage to 
Emily Lawson SHREWSBERRY, who preceded him in death; three children were born, 
Lily, Margaret, and John.
     Mr. NIX is survived by:
his two daughters:
Mrs. Lily PARK of Grandview, Indiana
Mrs. Margaret WRIGHT of Frankfort, Indiana
one son, John C. NIX of Chicago, Illinois
one step-daughter, Mrs. Meda CARMAN
3 granddaughters; two grandsons; 3 great grandchildren
five brothers:
Oscar NIX of Harned, Ky
Robert NIX of Harned, Ky
Orville NIX of Harned, Ky
Taylor NIX of Harned, Ky
Milton NIX of Harned, Ky
one sister, Martha WILSON of Harned, Ky
and a host of nieces and nephews also survive.
     Funeral services were held at the Locust Hill Methodist Church.  Masonic 
Rites were held at the graveside at the Locust Hill Cemetery

central Breckinridge County, directly behind the church.

Emily died in Derby, Perry County, Indiana
her death certificate states she was buried at Harned, Ky
I cannot find a tombstone for her; nor can I verify where she is buried.
