OBITUARY
     Orum NORTON, 95 years old, of Irvington, Ky., in Breckinridge County, died 
Monday, January 6, 1997, at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital, Hardinsburg, after a 
lengthy illness.  He was born in Breckinridge County on October 24, 1901, a son of 
the late Louis NORTON and Ida DOWELL.  He was a retired farmer, and a member of 
the Freedom Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
He was preceded in death by:
his wife, Gracie NORTON in 1991
a daughter, Ruth CANNON in 1972
     He is survived by:
six daughters
three sons
two brothers
40 grandchildren; 74 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild

Additional Comments:
#0130 Freedom Cumberland Presbyterian Church and Cemetery; Directions: Turn north 
immediately west of "Dead Man's Curve" from Kentucky Highway 60.  The church lies 
east of the road, and is blocked from view by a low ridge.
