LEWIS NORTON
     Lewis NORTON, age 88, died April 6, 1957 at the home of his son, Orum NORTON, 
of Irvington, Ky.
     The funeral service was held on Monday afternoon at Freedom Cumberland 
Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Clarence Barger, a former pastor, 
officiating.  He was assisted by the Pastor, the Reverend Clarence Brear.  Burial 
was in the church cemetery.  Alexander Funeral Home, Irvington, was in charge of 
arrangements.

     Surviving Mr. NORTON are:
one daughter, Mrs. Arthur DOWELL, no residence listed for her

Wilbert NORTON of Irvington, Ky
Orum NORTON of Irvington, Ky
Ernest NORTON of Irvington, Ky
Elijah NORTON of Webster, Ky
25 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren
one sister, Mrs. Savannah BROWN of Webster, Ky
one brother, Aaron NORTON of Irvington, Ky
     Mr. NORTON was a member of the Freedom Church.  He had made his home in the 
Irvington community for several years.





Additional Comments:
#0130 Freedom Cumberland Presbyterian Church and Cemetery; Directions: Turn north 
immediately west of "Dead Man's Curve" from Kentucky Highway 60.  The church lies 
east of the road, and is blocked from view by a low ridge.
