PATE DIES FRIDAY AFTERNOON Splendid Citizen Called by Death at the Age of Seventy-three Funeral Held Sunday Morn LEAVES WIFE AND FAMILY Remus A. PATE died Friday afternoon at 4 o'clock after a serious illness of five days at his home on the Hill (in Cloverport). He had been in failing health for two years Mr. PATE was a citizen of Breckinridge County all his life. He was born March 21, 1843 near Hardinsburg. During the Civil War he served his country as a Federal Soldier. During the last nine years, he made his home in Cloverport, and had a beautiful place on the Hill. He was a member of the Clover Creek Baptist Church of this city. The funeral was held from the home Sunday morning, conducted by the Reverend W. C. Frank, and the interment took place in Taul's graveyard. The burial services were conducted by the Masons. Mr. PATE leaves his wife and five children. Mrs. PATE before her marriage, was Miss Lucy J. PATE. They were married February 22, 1866, by the Reverend James Taylor of Hardinsburg, Ky. The children are: Mrs. G. N. BRICKEY Mrs. George TAUL Mrs. W. V. PERKINS Luther PATE W. C. PATE A number of grandchildren honor his name and will follow his life of good citizenship and Christian living.
