J. T. PATTERSON ENDED ON LAST THURSDAY BY DEATH -- AFTER A LONG ILLNESS -- Mrs. Margaret Ann PATTERSON, the wife of John T. PATTERSON, died last Thursday evening, October 13, 1904, at 7:10 p.m. of heart trouble, after a long illness. She was seriously ill only a few days before death came. Mrs. PATTERSON was born in Harrison County, Indiana about 1830. She was formerly a Miss WILLIAR (should be spelled WILLAR), and is survived by several brothers who reside in Harrison County, Indiana. On December 21, 1857, she was married to John T. PATTERSON, who lived at Rome, Indiana (Perry County), but came from Butler, Pnn (?Pennsylvania?). Mr and Mrs PATTERSON resided at Rome, Indiana until 1883 when they came to this city (Cloverport) to make their home. Two children were born to this union, one child, Charles PATTERSON, surviving. Mrs. PATTERSON was a consistent and devoted member of the Baptist Church for nearly 50 years, having united with the church while on a visit to Baltimore, Maryland. While her health permitted, she was a church worker, and a very charitable woman. The funeral was conducted from the family residence at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, October 14, 1904. The Reverend P. L. KING, officiating. The interment was at the city cemetery. Page 5, Column 1 (same issue October 19, 1904) CLOVERPORT NEWS ITEM: H. M. MASON, of Herbert, Indiana was here Friday to attend the funeral of his aunt, Mrs. Jno. PATTERSON. Breckinridge News, Cloverport, Ky., Wednesday, October 26, 1904 Page 1, Column 4 CORRECTION: Through an unintentional error, it was stated in last week's "NEWS" that Mrs. J. T. PATTERSON was a member of the Baptist Church for nearly 50 years. It should have been the Methodist Church. Additional Comments: NOTE: I did not find a town called Herbert, Indiana. It doesn't exist. However, the MASON family lived in and around Herbert in Ohio County, Ky. I have a few that married into my families that lived in the same area of Ohio County. And, Jno. is an abbreviation for the name John. Breckinridge County Cemetery Book, volume 1, published in 1991: Cloverport Cemetery, Cloverport, Ky PATTERSON, M.
