OBITUARY
Reverend S. O. PAYNE, died July 20, 1961 at his home in Morton, Tennessee.     
     Reverend PAYNE was born May 24, 1895, and lived near Irvington, Ky 
(Breckinridge County).  He graduated in 1922 from the school in Irvington, and 
also attended college at Berea, Ky (Madison County), then he attended Bethel 
College in McKenzie, Tennessee (which lies within Carroll, Henry, & Weakley 
Counties).  He was Pastoring a church in Missouri at the time of his death.
He is survived by:
his wife, Mildred YOUNGER PAYNE
one son:
James Franklin PAYNE (no residence given)
four brothers:
Estell PAYNE of Kingswood, Ky (Breckinridge County)
Walton PAYNE of Hardinsburg, Ky (Breckinridge County)
E. D. PAYNE of Louisville, Ky (Jefferson County)
E. M. PAYNE of Phoenix, Arizona (Maricopa County)
one sister:
Mrs. Edor McCOY of Lafayette, Indiana (Tippecanoe County)
one nephew and several nieces
     Funeral services were held (no date) at Memphis, Tennessee (Shelby 
County).

NOTE:  I could not find the town of Morton, Tennessee to identify the County.
