Joel Penninger, age 86, of Irvington, died Sunday, November 18, 2001 at Medco 
Center of Hardinsburg following a lengthy illness.  Born January 13, 1915 in 
Rowan County, NC, Mr. Penninger was the son of the late Joel F. Penninger and 
Ada Miller.  He was retired from Olin Corporation in Brandenburg, was a World 
War II Army veteran and a member of the Irvington Untied Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Marjorie Penninger; a daughter, Lisa 
Penninger, Palo Alto, CA; four sisters, Ruth Haire, Helen Waller and Bonnie 
Miller, all of NC, and Barbara Bradley, IL; a brother, Robert Penninger, NC, 
and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held at 11am. Wednesday, November 21, from the chapel of 
Alexander Funeral Home, Irvington, with the Rev. Phillip Martin officiating.  
Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
