All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ky/kyfiles.html ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Peggy Russell meemawpeg7@gmail.com November 13, 2020, 12:04 pm Unknown Kentucky Newspaper August 1977 OBITUARY MOTORCYCLE-AUTO CRASH FATAL TO HUDSON BOY WILLIAM ORVILLE PILE 1957 - 1977 William Orville "Billy" PILE, 19-year-old Hudson youth, was killed early Sunday morning near Union Star in Breckinridge County, when his motorcycle collided head-on with an automobile driven by Timothy Hardesty, age 19, of Floyd Knobs, Indiana. Deputy Sheriff Bobby Patterson said the accident apparently occurred when the east-bound automobile crossed the center line on a curve, and collided with the motorcycle which was west-bound. Coroner Joe Trent said PILE died at 12:45 a.m. shortly after the accident, of multiple head injuries. Hardesty was treated at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital in Hardinsburg and released. There were no passengers. Young PILE was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Franklin C. PILE of Hudson in Breckinridge County. He was a graduate of Breckinridge County High School, and was a member of the Fairview United Methodist Church. Surviving in addition to his parents are: one brother grandparents: Mr. and Mrs. Orville FRANK of Westview, Ky Mrs. Ora PILE of Hudson, Ky Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, August 30, 1977 from the Fairview United Methodist Church, under the direction of Trent-Dowell Funeral Home in Hardinsburg. Burial was in the church cemetery.
