OBITUARY

     Henry Marvin PORTER, age 49 of 3011 Baybrook Street, Owensboro, Ky., died 
about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday after suffering an apparent heart attack at work.
     PORTER had been in the restaurant business for many years, and was owner 
and operator of Sherman's Grill, 407 Triplett Street.
     He was born October 20, 1916 in Russellville, Ky., in Logan County, and 
had lived in Owensboro for fifteen years.  He was a member of Ridgewood Baptist 
Church, a veteran of World War II, and a member of Post 696, Veterans of 
Foreign Wars.
He is survived by:
his widow, Mrs. Beatrice PORTER
two daughters:
Mrs. Helen Marie EDELENBOS of Madison, Indiana
Mrs. Phyllis RICO of Flint, Michigan
one son:
Roy Alonzo PORTER of Washington, D.C.
a step-son:
Virdis Donavan SHARP of Fort Knox, Ky
two sisters:
Mrs. Beatrice TUCKER of Magnolia, Ky
Mrs. Gladys FOOTE of Elizabethtown, Ky
one brother:
James PORTER of Elizabethtown, Ky
5 grandchildren
     Services will be held Friday at the Glenn Funeral Home.  Burial will be in 
Hudson Cemetery, Meade County.  The body is at Delbert J. Glenn Funeral Home.
