V. PURVIS froze to death at Fordsville (Ohio County), Ky. on Sunday night. He was a watch repairer and about 60 years of age. On Saturday his wife and family went to Askins (in Breckinridge County), Ky. to visit relatives. It is thought that while they were absent PURVIS procured some whiskey, and drank until he became intoxicated. He went home and sat in a chair in a fireless room, and during the intense cold of the night, froze to death. His wife returned Monday, and found her husband stiff and cold in the chair. Additional Comments: I did not find a tombstone for Mr. PURVIS in Breckinridge County Cemeteries, volume one, published in 1991.
