OBITUARY
     Gilbert Allen RANKIN, age 65, of Battletown in Meade County, Ky, died 
suddenly on Tuesday, May 12, 1981 at his residence.  He was born on July 3, 
1915 in Breckinridge County, the son of the late Louis RANKIN and Flonie LYONS 
RANKIN.  Surviving are:
two daughters
two sons
four sisters:
Mrs. Louise CARWILE of Louisville, Ky (Jefferson County)
Mrs. Birdie TELLER of Hardinsburg, Ky
Ms. Virginia RANKIN of Hardinsburg, Ky
Mrs. Mabel STINNETT of Hardinsburg, Ky
three brothers:
Albert RANKIN of Louisville, Ky
Paul RANKIN of Louisville, Ky
Robert RANKIN of Battletown, Ky
9 grandchildren
     Funeral services were held on Friday, May 15, 1981 from the chapel of the 
Trent-Dowell Funeral Home, Hardinsburg, and burial was in the New Bethel 
Cemetery.

Additional Comments:
Gilbert Allen RANKIN and his sister, Virginia RANKIN have a tombstone.
