OBITUARY
SELF-INFLICTED GUNSHOT WOUND IS FATAL TO HARNED MAN
     John Anthony ROBBINS, 52, of Harned Route in Breckinridge County, died at his
residence 
near Garfield Thursday, August 24, 1978, of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
     According to the sheriff's office, the fatal wound was caused by a single shot
from a 
.22 caliber rifle into the forehead.  His body was found lying on the back porch of
the 
family home by his son, David ROBBINS, where he returned home at about 12:15 p.m. 
ROBBINS 
had been in poor health for quite some time, according to family members.  He was
the son of 
the late Snead and Lola MILLER ROBBINS.  He is survived by:
his wife, the former Ruth BRUNER
three daughters:
Mrs. Shirley BLAND of McQuady, Ky (Breckinridge County)
Mrs. Sharon HENNING of Kingswood, Ky (Breckinridge County)
Mrs. Sue BALDWIN of Hardinsburg, Ky
four sons:
Roger ROBBINS of Harned, Ky
Ray ROBBINS of Harned, Ky
David ROBBINS of Harned, Ky
Steven ROBBINS of Harned, Ky
one step-son:
William RAINE of Ramsey, Indiana (Harrison County)
one sister:
Mrs. Regina BRUINGTON of Jacksonville, Illinois (Morgan County)
two brothers:
Vincent ROBBINS of Moore Haven, Florida (Glades County)
Bernard ROBBINS of Harned, Ky
     The funeral was held on Saturday afternoon, August 26, 1978, from the
Trent-Dowell 
Funeral Home in Hardinsburg, and burial was in the Hensley Cemetery.
