Obituary

     Mrs. Edith POWELL ROGERS, age 31, of Indianapolis, Indiana, formerly of 
Cloverport, Ky., and sister of Mrs. Louis BASHAM and Mrs. Harold KNIGHT of 
Cloverport, was held jointly on Thursday, with those of her 4 children at a 
Louisville Funeral Home.

     The ROGERS family were on their way to Louisville, Ky. to visit when the 
panel truck carrying the family of 6 overturned and caught fire after a 
collision Tuesday, and the entire family of 5 died in flames.
The father, Francis H. ROGERS, age 41, survived, and is on the critical list 
at St. Joseph Infirmary, Louisville, of 3rd degree burns.

Dead beside the mother were:  her 4 children
Sherrey Gail, age 4
Leonard, age 22 months
Donna Marie, age 1
Linda LaVerne, age 2 months
The  accident occurred at Franklin, Indiana, on U. S. Highway 31.
Burial was at Evergreen Cemetery in Louisville

Also surviving are relatives of the mother:
three sisters:
Mrs. Louis BASHAM, Cloverport, Ky.
Mrs. Harold KNIGHT, Cloverport, Ky.
Mrs. H. B. JOHNSON, Waukegan, Illinois
one brother:
Ronald POWELL, Waukegan, Illinois

George Herman Powell, Louisville, Ky.
Donald POWELL, Lawton, Oklahoma
Roger POWELL, Tucson, Arizona
Leonard F. POWELL, Cincinnati, Ohio
(The last 4 men were not identified.  I wonder if they are also her brothers?)

Indianapolis, Indiana is in Marion County
Franklin, Indiana is in Johnson County
