OBITUARY

     Arvil Thomas SHARTZER, age 70 of Hardinsburg, died on Friday, March 13, 
1987 in Louisville, Ky (Jefferson County).  He was born in Breckinridge County 
on February 11, 1917, a son of the late Jess and Iva SEBASTIAN SHARTZER.  Mr. 
SHARTZER was a retired employee of the Meade County RECC, and a member of the 
New Bethel Baptist Church.  He is survived by:
his wife, Mrs. Mae SHARTZER
two daughters
four sons
two sisters:
Mrs. Lillie RICHARDS of Hardinsburg, Ky
Mrs. Ida DOWELL of Hardinsburg, Ky
23 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren
     Funeral services were held on Monday, March 16, 1987 at the New Bethel 
Baptist Church with the Trent-Dowell Funeral Home, Hardinsburg, in charge of 
arrangements.  Burial was in the New Bethel Cemetery.
