He was born in the Ammons Community of Breckinridge County, Mr. SHELMAN was the son of the late Earl Lawrence SHELMAN and Emma Katherine MASTERSON SHELMAN. He was retired from the Civil Service at Fort Knox after 35 years, was a member of the Carrollton United Methodist Church, Carrollton Lodge #134 F&AM, Irvington Lodge #868 F&AM, a member of Port Wm. History Society, was active in Boy Scouts, was a former member of the Irvington Fire Department, and a veteran of the Air Force serving in the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by: two sisters: Mary Ellen BALL Nettie Belle SHELMAN two brothers: Chester SHELMAN James SHELMAN Surviving Mr. SHELMAN are: his wife, Mrs. Mildred Jewel HICKERSON SHELMAN two sons one brother: O. D. SHELMAN of Cloverport, Ky (Breckinridge County) one grandson Services will be held at 1 p.m. EST on Wednesday, February 28, 1996 from the Sample United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Sample Cemetery under the direction of the Alexander Funeral Home, Irvington, Ky. Masonic services were held at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
