W. SHOUSE DEAD -- John W. SHOUSE, formerly of this city (Cloverport) died Thursday, February 26, 1904 at the Old Soldier's Home at Marion, Indiana (Grant County), of which he had been an inmate for several years. Mr. SHOUSE came to this city in the early 1870's. Several years ago he suffered a stroke of partial paralysis and soon after went to the Old Soldier's Home, as he served in the Union Army during the Civil War. The death of Mr. SHOUSE was received in this city with genuine regret. He was well-known here, and had many friends who remembered him as a kind-hearted and honest man. He was a man who probably had not a single enemy. While his health permitted, he worked at his trade as plasterer. He suffered much with lung trouble, which, with paralysis probably hastened his death. He leaves a sister, Mrs. LATIMER, of Cannelton, Indiana (Perry County). Additional Comments: I found no SHOUSE burials with tombstones when I searched volume 1 and volume 2 of the Breckinridge County Cemetery Books.
