OBITUARY
     Jess W. SIMMONS, age 88, of Irvington, Ky in Breckinridge County, died on 
Saturday, January 23, 1988 at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, Ky.  
Mr. SIMMONS was born November 16, 1899 in Webster, Breckinridge County, a son of 
the late Louis Calvin SIMMONS & Molly TABOR SIMMONS.  He was a retired farmer, 
and a retired Civil Service employee of Fort Knox, Ky.
His wife, Mrs. Zelma BROWN SIMMONS, preceded him in death in 1974.
     He is survived by:
one son
a 1/2 sister
2 grandchildren
     Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 25, 1988 from the 
chapel of Alexander Funeral Home in Irvington, Ky.  Burial was in the Freedom 
Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Garfield.
Masonic services were held by Irvington Lodge #868 on Sunday night, January 23, 
1988.


Additional Comments:
#0139 Freedom Cumberland Presbyterian Church and Cemetery; Directions: turn north 
immediately west of "Dead Man's Curve" from Kentucky Highway 60.  The church lies 
east of the road, and is blocked from view by a low ridge.
