Obituary
ELISHA SIMMONS

Harned -- (Breckinridge County), Ky.
Elisha M. SIMMONS suffered a heart attack at his Florida home about a month 
ago, and died April 28, 1960 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Mary Vivian 
DAVIS of Indianapolis (Marion County), Indiana.  The funeral was conducted 
Monday, May 2, 1960 in Indianapolis.  Some of his Florida friends were 
pallbearers.

Mr. SIMMONS was age 78, a son of the late Elisha and Toy A. BRUINGTON DOWELL 
SIMMONS of Breckinridge County, Ky.  He was united in marriage to Miss Nell 
CHRIS, and to this union two children were born.  Mrs. SIMMONS preceded him in 
death.  Later he was married to Miss Katie BRUINGTON, of Harned, who preceded 
in death.  Mr. SIMMONS lived near here (Harned) for sometime.  He was a good 
man.  Kind to everyone and has many friends here.  For several years he has 
spent the summers in his home in Indianapolis, and the winters in his Florida 
home.  Surviving him are:

one daughter:
Mrs. Mary Vivian DAVIS, Indianapolis
one granddaughter:
Edith Marie SIMMONS, Indianapolis
several nieces and nephews

a sister-in-law of his daughter, and many of his Florida friends.


Additional Comments:
I did not find a tombstone for Elisha'a first wife, Nell CHRIS SIMMONS.
I did find a tombstone for Katie BRUINGTON SIMMONS, Elisha's second wife.
