OBITUARY

     Mrs. Vonnie Cecil SMALLWOOD, age 79, of Custer, in Breckinridge County, died at
her 
home on Sunday, May 11, 1975.  She was the daughter of the late Joel PRESTON &
Maggie DRAKE 
PRESTON.  She is survived by:
three sons:
Harley SMALLWOOD of Louisville, Ky (Jefferson County)
Herbert SMALLWOOD of Elizabethtown, Ky (Hardin County)
Walter SMALLWOOD of Custer, Ky
four daughters:
Mrs. Mary BALLANCE of Glenco, Ky (Gallatin County)
Mrs. Martin(e) PETERSON of Erlanger, Ky (Kenton County)
Mrs. Pearline BAILEY of Louisville, Ky
Mrs. Pauline COMPTON of Elizabethtown, Ky
19 grandchildren
three sisters also survive:
Mrs. Millie LYON of Custer, Ky
Mrs. Lula SIMMONS of Elizabethtown, Ky
Mrs. Golda HUDSON of Louisville, Ky
     The funeral was held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 13, 1975, at the Grandview
Baptist 
Church with the Reverend Oscar Hayes, officiating.  Burial was in the Preston
Cemetery, 
directed by the Trent-Dowell Funeral Home in Hardinsburg.
