     Virginia Louise SMILEY, age 64, of Leitchfield, Ky., died on August 28, 
2001, at her home.  She was born in Breckinridge County, Ky on July 9, 1937, a 
daughter Wallace W. and Mary Lee ELLIOTT MATTINGLY.  She was a housewife, and 
a member of the Calvert Church.
     Two sisters, Dorothy Faye & Mabel Joyce MATTINGLY preceded her in death.  
She is survived by:
her husband, Maurice SMILEY of Leitchfield, Ky
two sons
one brother
four sisters
2 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren
     Funeral services were held on Thursday, August 30, 2001 at the Calvert 
Church in Breckinridge County.  Burial followed in the Calvert Cemetery, with 
the Dermitt Funeral Home of Leitchfield, Ky in charge of arrangements.

SMILEY and Maurice L. SMILEY are buried at:
#0065 Calvert Community Church Cemetery, located east of Hornback Mill Road, 
approximately 1.6 miles southeast of its junction with KY 737, within sight of 
the Ben Johnson School on KY 259, near McDaniels in Breckinridge County, Ky.
