DORTHY F. SMILEY Woodrow, Ky (Special) --- Mrs. Dorothy Frances SMILEY was born March 8, 1850 and died December 1, 1936. (death certificate lists died in 1935) She was first married to George KINNESON, and to this union two children preceded her (copied as printed), Mrs. Nannie SIPES of this place, Chris KINNESON also of this place, where she made her home. She was preceded in death only a few years by a son, Chester KINNESON of Louisville. She is survived by a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Later in life she was married to Harrison SMILEY, who also preceded her in death. The Reverend R. L. LOCKARD conducted a very appropriate funeral service on Monday afternoon at the home. She was laid to rest in the Good Hope Cemetery near here. She was always ready to lend a helping hand in her kind Christian way; "God loveth a Cheerful Giver." Granny, as she was to everyone who knew her, always gave in her cheerful qnd big hearted way. She never forgot the sick or needy. She had lived a faithful Christian since early in life, and was always happiest when engaged in work for her Master. She was the oldest lady in our community. Everyone loved her, and her bright testimonies for the Lord. She made the remark so often, "Children, I will soon be ready to cross over the old Christian Ford." God surely blessed her with a long life that will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. Company I, 13th Kentucky Infantry enlisted on 22 Oct 1861; mustered out on 12 Jan 1865 in Louisville, Ky he has a single tombstone #0130 Fairview United Methodist Church Cemetery, north side of KY 690, midway between Mook and SeRee, Ky., in central Breckinridge County; approximately 3 miles east of Westview, on KY 259.
