OBITUARY
HENRY D. SMILEY  1895 -- 1976
     Henry D. SMILEY, age 80, died suddenly on Tuesday, January 20, 1976, of an 
apparent heart attack.  He was returning to his home, when he fell on the 
street near the Cloverport R.E.C.C. office, and lived only a few minutes.  Near 
neighbors were there to lend assistance, and called an ambulance.
     A retired employee of the American Olean Tile Plant, and was a member of 
the Cloverport First United Methodist Church.  He was born on April 19, 1895, 
the son of the late Amon and Liza LASLIE SMILEY.
He is survived by:
his wife, Mrs. Nettie SMILEY, ill at the DeJarnette Nursing Home in Cloverport.
four sons:
Sherman SMILEY of Cloverport, Ky
Roy Lee SMILEY of Cloverport, Ky
Joe SMILEY of Hayworth, Illinois
Harold SMILEY of Baton Rouge, Louisiana
three daughters:
Mrs. Bessie HOWARD of Hudson, Ky
Mrs. Louise RUDDELL of Sellersburg, Indiana
Mrs. Lottie May ESTES of Tampa, Florida
30 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren
four brothers:
Jack SMILEY of SeRee, Ky
Edward SMILEY of Kingswood, Ky
Delphis SMILEY of McDaniels, Ky
Denver SMILEY of Tell City, Indiana
two sisters:
Mrs. Lura WILLIAMS of Westview, Ky
Mrs. Lora ALDRIDGE of SeRee, Ky
     The funeral was held on Friday, January 23, 1976 from the Cloverport 
United Methodist Church under the direction of Harry L. Dhonau Funeral Home in 
Cloverport.  Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery, Harned Route.
