Leonard Ray Smiley, age 89 of Rockvale,KY died 
Thursday,4-11-2007 at his residence. He was born in 
SeRee,KY on 4-5-1918, the son of the late Sam and 
Pauline Kessinger Smiley. He was a WWII Army veteran, 
a member of Black Lick Baptist Church, a farmer and 
retired school bus driver.
 
He was preceded in death by a brother - Calvin Smiley
5 sisters - Lula Frances Henderson,Hannah Elosie 
Smiley, Lilly Mary Thornberry, Mattie Lee "Pat" 
Beatty and Margaret Owen
 
He is survived by his wife of 53 years - Alma Lyons 
Smiley of Rockvale,KY
2 daughters and sons-in-law: Ramona and Chuck Miller 
of Charlestown,IN
Ester and Durane Evans of Falls of Rough,KY
2 sons and daughters-in-law:Larry & Gayla Smiley of 

McQuady,KY
Lester and Doris Smiley of Madisonville,KY
1 brother - Sam Smiley,Jr of Falls of Rough,KY
2 sisters - Lydia Robertson of Hardinsburg,KY

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, 4-15-2007 at 
2PM at Black Lick Baptist Church with Bro. Oliver 
Sanders officiating. Burial will be in the church 
cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be 
held on Saturday from 4-8PM and after 10AM Sunday at 
Trent-Dowell Funeral Home in Hardinsburg,KY. Memorial 
contributions are requested to: Black Lick Baptist 
Church
