OBITUARY

     Hubert J. SMITH, age 78, of Constantine, Ky in Breckinridge County, died on 
Sunday, December 20, 1987 at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital, Hardinsburg, after 
a short illness.  He was born on May 3, 1909 in Breckinridge County, a son of 
the late Gideon P. SMITH and Lucy J. SMILEY SMITH.  He was a retired farmer, and 
a member of Constantine United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lenora Edith SMITH in 1980.
He is survived by:
one daughter:
Mrs. Dwight (Shirley) PILE of Constantine, Ky
two grandsons
one granddaughter
one great grandson
four sisters:
Mrs. James "Jiggs" STINNETT of Hardinsburg, Ky
Mrs. Alfred WHITWORTH of Harned, Ky
Mrs. Lillie Ree ARMES of Westview, Ky
Mrs. Don MURPHY of Louisville, Ky
     Funeral services will be held today (Wednesday, December 23, 1987) at the 
Constantine United Methodist Church, with the Trent-Dowell Funeral Home, 
Hardinsburg, in charge of arrangements.  Burial in the Hudson Cemetery.
