OBITUARY
OLIVER T. SMITH
Mattingly, Mar. 21. (Special)--
     A large crowd attended the funeral of Oliver T. SMITH, age 19, held at New 
Clover Creek Church Sunday afternoon, March 19, 1939, the Reverend William 
Varble of Cloverport, officiating.
     He was the son of James and Annie STAPLES SMITH of near Balltown.  At the 
time of his death he was employed as a night watchman at the Cloverport 
Livestock Yard, Cloverport, and while on duty became seriously ill.  He was 
taken to the home of a relative, Wavie SMITH, and his parents were summoned.  He 
died shortly after the arrival of his parents.  Death was due to Sugar Diabetes.
     Six cousins of the deceased acted as pallbearers.
He is survived by:
his parents, Mr. & Mrs. James SMITH
two sisters:
Jane SMITH
Mrs. Boyd McMANAWAY
and a host of relatives.
