OBITUARY
JAMES WILLIAM SNYDER
Garfield, July 16 (Special) --- James William SNYDER died Thursday, July 4, 1929 
at Lakeland, Ky.  He had been a patient in that institution for a number of 
years, and his death came peacefully, at the age of 72.  He was the son of 
O'Rileye and Nancye SNYDER, and was born June 7, 1857.
     When a young man he was married to Miss Nancye Jane DURHAM of Hardinsburg, 
who with the following children survive:
Mrs. Mary MATTINGLY of Garfield, Ky
Mrs. J. T. MORGAN of Savannah, Georgia
Mrs. William J. HATCHEN of Hardinsburg, Ky
Mrs. Robert Lee IRWIN of Hardinsburg, Ky
Earl SNYDER of Hardinsburg, Ky
Also surviving are:
one sister, Mrs. Johnie HOOK of Hardinsburg, Ky
one brother, George SNYDER of near Freedom, Ky
     The funeral service was conducted at the Freedom Cumberland Presbyterian 
Church, and the burial held in Freedom Cemetery.
     Mr. SNYDER possessed a strong Christian character, and had been a member of 
that church since early childhood.



Additional Comments:
#0139 Freedom Cumberland Presbyterian Church and Cemetery; Directions: turn north 
immediately west of "Dead Man's Curve" from Kentucky Highway 60.  The church lies 
east of the road, and is blocked from view by a low ridge.

his wife, Nancy Jane DURHAM SNYDER  8-4-1860 -- 4-3-1959
is buried with a single tombstone at the Ivy Hill Cemetery in Hardinsburg, Ky in 
Breckinridge County.
She died at age 98 (I found her death certificate)
her father: Phillip DURHAM
her mother: Mary HOOK
