According to state police accident reports, Otis A. Singleton of Owensboro, was driving a Standard Oil Company tank truck across the bridge in the direction of Cloverport. Proceding in the opposite direction were two sand hauling dump trucks, the first being driven by Charles T. Goldsberry of Leitchfield, and the second by STINNETT. From stories pieced together at the scene, Goldsberry slowed sharply in order to let the tank truck clear the bridge before entering his own truck onto the structure. STINNETT'S truck from the rear, knocking Goldsberry's truck into both the bridge and the tank truck. The impact stopped the truck STINNETT was driving, but also loosened the dump body which continued in a forward momentum crushing the cab, and pinning STINNETT against the stearing wheel. STINNETT died after having been take(n) to St. Joseph Hospital in Louisville. He is survived by: his wife, Dianne one son: Richard Dewayne two daughters: Tonja Sue Kimberly Renee his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Will STINNETT of Harned, Ky six brothers: Lester STINNETT of Valley Station, Ky Albert STINNETT of Louisville, Ky Will STINNETT, Jr. of Harned, Ky Ronnie STINNETT of Harned, Ky Donnie STINNETT of Harned, Ky David STINNETT of Harned, Ky The funeral was held at the Hudson Methodist Church on Monday, May 6, 1963, with burial in the Hudson Cemetery.
