He also served in the Mexican War. His occupation was blacksmith and farmer. OBITUARY OF JOSEPH LEVI TAUL Joseph L. TAUL, 93 years of age, died at his home on Clover Creek, four miles west of Hardinsburg last Saturday April 15th, and was interred in the Taul Cemetery with his parents and other members of his family. The Reverend Ruben Laslie conducted the service. Mr. TAUL was a native of Fayette County, but came to Breckinridge County with his parents as a very young man. He was twice married; his first wife was Miss Margaret LAIER of Jessamine County, and to them was born one son, W. B. TAUL of Mattingly. His second marriage was to Miss Emma BRICKEY, the daughter of Nathaniel BRICKEY who still survives him, with seven children (8 children listed in obituary): G. N. TAUL Mrs. G. D. PERKINS Mrs. B. H. BATES John M. TAUL S. C. TAUL Eli TAUL Mrs. Ernest ALDRIDGE Miss Clara TAUL All children of this county except Eli who lives in Tell City, Indiana. Mr. TAUL was a volunteer in the Mexican War, but his company was never called out of the United States. He was again a volunteer in the Civil War, serving throughout the war in the 3rd Calvary, and was with Sherman on his famous "March to the Sea". His brother, William, was killed by his side. His occupation was that of a blacksmith and farmer.
